Airspace Link was featured this week in a New York Times article highlighting Detroit's burgeoning tech scene and the innovative companies driving the future of mobility. As proud members of the Newlab community at Michigan Central, we're at the forefront of this exciting transformation, developing cutting-edge drone management solutions that are shaping the future of transportation.

Detroit: A Hub of Mobility Innovation

Detroit has long been synonymous with mobility innovation, and today, it's experiencing a remarkable tech resurgence. At Michigan Central, we're part of an incredible ecosystem of startups driving emerging technologies across the mobility spectrum. This former train station, now repurposed as a hub for innovation, symbolizes Detroit's enduring spirit of innovation and its ability to adapt to the changing landscape of transportation technology.

Airspace Link: Preparing for the Future of Drone Technology

The New York Times article offers an insightful glimpse into our operations at Airspace Link. As highlighted by our Chief Financial Officer, Bill Johnson, we're aggressively preparing for upcoming Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules that will allow drones to operate beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS). Johnson explains the significance of these upcoming regulations:

"By 2026, the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to issue rules that allow drones to operate beyond visual line of sight, or BVLOS, giving operators a broader area in which they can be flown, if they are meticulously tracked, and the ability to track multiple devices. That allows the economy to unlock the potential for drones."

Looking Ahead: The Future of Drone Technology

While Detroit serves as our home base and is integral to our strategy, our vision extends far beyond. We're working tirelessly to drive safe and smart drone operations management with state and local governments and companies across the United States.

The drone industry is rapidly evolving, and with it comes new challenges and opportunities. This underscores the crucial role Airspace Link plays in helping municipalities navigate and regulate this new aerial environment.

As we continue to innovate and grow, we remain committed to our mission of enabling the safe integration of drones into our skies and communities. We're proud to be part of Detroit's tech resurgence and excited about the future of drone technology and its potential to revolutionize various industries. As always, we're grateful for the support of our partners, customers, and the broader drone community as we work together to shape the future of mobility.
